Being as close as we are in Houston to the Gulf Coast, we have fresh seafood at our beckoning call.  Of course we can also have it flown in from all over the world overnight.  Nevertheless, Houston knows Seafood and several locally run families have a good understanding on how to do seafood right.

Steven’s favorites

Pappa’s Seafood – The Pappa’s family has scored big in the seafood category with two (2) winners.  Fresh fish, shrimp and more, the food is consistently high quality as is the Waite staff.  A great Greek salad with your seafood is a wonderful way to start. Houston is graced by several of these wonderful locations as well as….

Pappadeaux’s – This is seafood done right with a “cajun” or “creole” flair. They have several locations in and around Houston.

Monument Inn –  A great place for an interesting “power lunch” watching the ship channel traffic or an evening out with the family. Sitting right on the Houston ship channel, Monument Inn is the home to excellent sea food and more.  Their fresh baked rolls and cinnamon buns are legendary.  Fried shrimp is to die for.  Also is a great venue for parties on the first floor.

Goode Company Seafood – Another great seafood restaurant by a local family.  Excellent food and some incredible coleslaw.

Tony Mandola’s – A local legend, Tony knows restaurants and knows it is excellent food and service that keeps his patrons coming back.
