Seafood Restaurants in Houston

Danton's Gulf Coast Seafood  Bar- 4611 Montrose - located on the North East corner of Montrose and the Hwy 59 overpass bridge, this is one of Houston's best fresh Seafood restaurants.

Their seafood gumbo is what we all have been looking for, not some watery, out of a can or carton, tasteless "wannabe" rue, this is the real McCoy!  Add a couple of shakes of Hot Sauce and it is perfect.  This is one of the best I have ever had and believe me, I have had many a gumbo. Dark rue, full of flavor!

Their fried shrimp is fresh and delicious, as was everything else I tasted. When the waitress, said "Raspberry Creme Brulee and coffee??", I said "sure!".  What a treat.

If coming from the medical center area, turn into their parking lot right before you cross the Hwy 59 overpass.  If coming from Montrose, get ready to turn right after the bridge.

Pappas Seafood - Consistantly one of my favorites for great seafood. I love their pan grilled Mahi Mahi with the Pontchartrain sauce (on the side). It is to die for. Also try their Alexander sauce.

Their shrimp etouffee over white rice is also a favorite. With a little Louisiana hot sauce, it is kicking!

Try their shrimp and crawfish fondue as an appetizer along with their Famous Greek salad and a bowl of gumbo. Go early because all their locations in Houston get busy in the evenings and at lunch.

Landry's - Getting their start in Katy, Texas over 20 years ago, this restaurant has exploded onto the national restaurant scene and expanded to encompase many diverse kinds of restaurants.

My favorite location is in Kemah and up the stairs to the Jimmie Walker room. The menu has a wide variety of excellent choics. Everything I have tried so far has been a winner. Even the chicken rockefeller is awesome. They really know how to grill and fry their fish, shrimp and oysters.

Monument Inn - a little drive but well worth it.  The homemade breads are out of this world.  Seafood is great and they KNOW HOW TO CATER.  I have been to several parties on the first floor that were first class!  I promise you will enjoy!

Brady's Landing - When I think seafood buffet on a Sunday brunch, this is the place.  They know how to cook and prepare a feast.  Be there early to get in line.

Great lunch buffets. Also available Friday and Saturday evenings.
