Description

Danton a self – taught cook definitely has the culinary skills to lure people in. He opened and managed many well-known Houston eateries including Goode Company Seafood, Willie G’s, Landry’s - Galveston, and; created the menus at the original Joe’s Crab Shack and Joyce’s Oyster Resort.

The restaurant seats 200 and flows beautifully between the “Dining Room” and “Oyster Bar”. The Dining Room seats approximately 125, providing you the choice of a table, booth, or a stool at the bar. The Oyster Bar is unlike anything seen in Houston since the heyday of Gaido’s and Angelo’s Fisherman’s Wharf. Watch professional “shuckers” shuck fresh Gulf oysters right in front of you. The “Oyster Bar” also doubles as a private dining area with seating for approximately 60.

Yum and Fun

Candice Ward from Houston - 12/24/2011 11:43:19

We went on a Friday at 8pm. My husband and his father are real foodies. They were extremely impressed, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. For appetizers, my husband had the Baked Oysters Dan. Pop had the oysters on the half shell, and I had the campechana with crab and shrimp. We couldn't decide what was the best. The blue cheese dressing on the side salad that came with my meal was the best I have ever had. It had a strong garlic flavor with heavenly blue cheese chunks. Pop went with the tomato salad and said it was excellent as well. Main courses: Pop: grilled flounder, David: skate wings with poblano and crab, and myself: crab augratin. I win! However, David thought his was sensational. Pop thought his was a little too spicy covering up the flavor of the fish. We rounded off dinner with key lime pie for Pop and Patsy's Chocolate Monkey Cake for Davey and myself. Eh. The key lime was not very limey according to Pop. And where I loved the texture of the monkey cake, dense and moist, I wanted a slightly stronger chocolate flavor and for it to be room temperature or warm. It was chilled. *shrug* Overall I give it a 4.5 outta 5. We will definitely be returning! Thank you Tom for great service. You were very patient with Pop.

The Best darn seafood in houston

Steven from Houston, Texas - 06/25/2010 21:36:32

I love great seafood. I also love live jazz. Danton's brings the two together every Sunday brunch for a winning combination.

Chef Danton knows his seafood and every bite is delicious. I eat there during the week and enjoy their gumbo too. Some of the best in Houston.

You can not miss this winning combination
