Harold’s in the Heights is a name Houstonians have been familiar with for over half a century.  Harold Wiesenthal was an iconic figure in The Heights neighborhood, and was instrumental in creating and fostering the Texan hospitality the neighborhood has become known for.

Today, we’re striving to keep his legacy of hospitality alive through Harold’s reincarnation as a casual restaurant serving a unique brand of Southern and Creole cuisine.  In it’s current iteration, Harold’s is the product of Chef Antoine Ware‘s New Orleans culinary roots and Owner Alli Jarrett‘s South Carolina-bred brand of hospitality and service.

Located above the Alli’s Pizzaria, Harold’s presents a menu to Houston and the Heights unlike any other found in the neighborhood.  Whether you’re coming for a casual meal for two or calling for a private party, Harold’s in the Heights is an outstanding option for brunch, lunch, dinner or happy hour, no matter the occasion.  Our Upstairs Terrace provides one of the best dining views in The Heights, and is perfect for a private party or event.

Things are looking up in the Heights…seriously, look up and you will find Harold’s Restaurant Terrace and Bar!

What could be more delightful than dining on a rooftop terrace, following Harold’s happy hour, in the center of the Heights of Houston?

Keeping the reputation of excellence which Harold’s Men’s Store enjoyed for decades, Harold’s Terrace Restaurant and Bar brings excellence to every delicious dish on the menu! What I like best is all their dishes are made from local fresh produce and in-house butchered meats from local farms.

True to Southern Cuisine the fried chicken is brined and battered the true southern way. How long has it been since you tasted fried chicken, mac and cheese and southern greens better than your momma ever made? My 6’2” husband ordered the hamburger on the evening menu and almost could not eat it all. He forced himself as he told me it was the best he had ever tasted.

The jalapeno bacon jam and grilled sweet onions is extraordinary on this burger! Harold’s is open for lunch and dinner and has an amazing brunch on Sunday. By the way, the service is southern hospitality and is as excellent as the cuisine.

The Terrace is covered with romantic lighting but if you prefer there is an inside dining room.

Again, look up at 350 W. 19th in the Heights of Houston, park behind the building, and go upstairs or ride the elevator to a southern terrace dining delight. See ya’ll there, so come hungry!
